Four Albany County communities, one shop

Latham and Loudonville are the closer two. Delmar and Slingerlands sit further south in the Town of Bethlehem, where Delaware Avenue is Delmar's main street and many 1800s homes still stand in the heart of Slingerlands.

An older house may have no ducts to work with, and cooling it is a different conversation than swapping a central air unit in a newer home. We tell you which one you're having once we've seen the house.

In 2023, after installing solar panels, we decided to ditch our gas furnace and transition to heat pumps for heating and cooling to finish our home’s transition to all-electric. Tony was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job, including making sure we had heat pumps that could handle the winter …

Highly recommended- I had a complex project and Stable Air was the only team who provided a solution, and was reasonably priced. I had an oil furnace and some duct work running through my 200 year old farm house, and no a/c. I wanted to convert to solar power and have mini splits to have clean …

Back in 2022, Stable Air completed a full overhaul of our HVAC system, removing our old, extremely inefficient fuel oil furnace and base board heating and replacing it with a brand-new ducted heat pump system with all-new ductwork. They also upgrade our homes insulation by sealing and insulating …

We can't recommend Stable Air Heating & Cooling enough! As first-time homebuyers, we unfortunately learned the hard way that we had been taken advantage of when purchasing our home. The house had vents throughout for central AC, and there was clear evidence that a unit had previously been …

Anthony installed central AC and a new furnace in our house. The AC has worked great, even on the hottest days. We have not used the heat much yet, but we are very excited for the built in whole house humidifier, that he installed as part of the system. In the winter, we'll have hot humid air …

Stable Air exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. The owner was extremely well communicative not only while price shopping, but once we had confirmed and begun the work. The work itself was professional and top of the line in quality and performance. They gave us an upgraded unit for the …

I was having problems with my furnace and had read some reviews on Nextdoor about Stable Air. I decided to give them a call and make an appointment. The owner of the company came over and examined the furnace. He told me he could clean it and presented an alternate idea…a new system. He gave me a …

I have been using Stable Air Heating & Cooling since 2022. I originally contacted them to replace my aging furnace. Not only did they give me a great price, the work they did made a world of difference. I had ticking noises in the ductwork prior, the owner took time to redo some of the ductwork …

It is very important to me being comfortable in my home. Stable Air Heating and cooling has been helping me with this for years. The owner is knowledgeable and fair. He went out of his way many times to diagnose problems and get my furnace up and running so i wouldn't be without heat. One time he …

Heating and cooling through an Albany winter

NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals for Albany Airport put the average January low at 15.9°F and the average July high at 83.9°F, so a system here has to handle both ends. That's why we size equipment for the house and don't just match what was there.

For a furnace or AC that's near the end of its life, our AC replacement and heat pump installation pages cover what we check before recommending anything.

FAQs about HVAC service in Albany County

Questions we hear from homeowners south of the river.

Do you come from Round Lake to Delmar and Slingerlands?
Yes. Both are on our list, along with Latham and Loudonville. Tell us your street when you call and we'll work out the visit.
Can you add cooling to an older Albany County home with no ducts?
Usually, and a mini split is the common way to do it. An outdoor unit connects to indoor heads through a small opening in the wall, so no ductwork is needed.
Do you service Albany County towns that aren't listed?
We only list towns we've confirmed. If yours isn't here, call (518) 645-8011 and ask before you assume either way.
