Who does the work when you hire Stable Air in Saratoga County?

At Stable Air Heating & Cooling, the same person who gave you the estimate does the work. Call about a furnace that won't fire or an air conditioner that quit and we come out, look at the system and tell you what we found.

Then that same person is back at your house in Saratoga County doing the repair or the install, with no salesperson first and a stranger later. So whoever measured your rooms and heard about the upstairs bedroom that never feels right is the one running the line set and wiring the thermostat.

If something comes up a year later, you're calling a company that has already seen your system. If you work in HVAC yourself, see careers at Stable Air Heating & Cooling in Round Lake.

More about One Person, Start To Finish

Charlene Shahin noticed this when her 1950 furnace was replaced. In her Google review she wrote: “Other companies I contacted sent a person to do the estimate but not the work!” Johna Applestein had her central AC and furnace installed by one person working alone, and she wrote that they felt they were getting “a higher level of attention to detail.”

How much training is behind our HVAC work in Saratoga County?

Four years of HVAC education came before our first job, and we are EPA certified. It mostly shows in things homeowners never look at, like how a system gets sized for the house or how venting gets fitted to an older home. Dustin King had ticking in his ductwork until we redid the run that was causing it and sealed the ducts.

A lot of Capital Region houses are old and very little in them is standard. Customers have had us replace a 1950 furnace with custom-made vent work, take an oil furnace out of a 200-year-old farmhouse, and custom fabricate ductwork so a heat pump system could tie into existing ducts across multiple zones.

More about Repair Or Replace Advice

Training also means knowing when a repair isn't worth your money. If a furnace or air conditioner has reached that point, we'll say so and show you why. Mary Lynne Hamilton called about a central air system that had stopped working and wrote that she got “a clear answer as to why our unit wasn’t working” along with what fixing it would cost compared to replacing it.

What heating and cooling calls do we get most in Saratoga County?

Most calls start with a few words like "heat not working", "air not working" or "air conditioning broke", typed into a phone on a cold January night, and those are the calls we take. We find the cause before we talk options, and it might be a simple repair.

When kimberly G's furnace needed a part ordered, we lent her a couple of space heaters until it came in. Sometimes the honest answer is a replacement.

Outside of repairs in Saratoga County, the bulk of the work is tune-ups, furnace and AC replacements, and mini split installs. Some customers have come to us wanting to get off oil or gas and move to heat pumps or mini splits, and our pages on heating services and air conditioning cover the full list. You can also browse all HVAC services in Saratoga County on one page.

More about Other Work We Do

We install water heaters, including high-efficiency heat pump water heaters. If you heat with a boiler and are weighing a move to a heat pump, we can walk you through what that means for your house.

What do customers say about Stable Air?

Mostly that we take the time to explain. Donnarae Norling contacted three companies before choosing us, and she said the process was explained best here and the price was fair. Jordan Gerber has used us for his furnace and central AC, and he called the work honest and dependable.

The follow-up after a job comes up a lot too, and so does the clean-up. kimberly G mentioned how well the work area gets cleaned before we leave.

Two customers found us after neighbors recommended us on Nextdoor. There's plenty more on our customer reviews page.

More about Customer Experiences

Kathryn Kennedy had two mini splits installed in her 1950s cape-style home and noted that the installer “showed up on time” and cleaned up every day before heading home. Kate Caddell had her whole house moved to mini splits, then invited us back to service her boiler going into the fall.

Where is our HVAC company in Saratoga County?

Our storefront is at 30 Wood Rd Unit 5 & 7, Round Lake, NY 12151, a village in the Town of Malta in Saratoga County. From there we work in 14 communities across Saratoga, Albany and Schenectady counties. Much of our work right now is in Clifton Park, Mechanicville and Latham, and the full list runs from Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa down to Delmar and Slingerlands.

Winters here are long: NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals for Albany Airport put the average January low at 15.9°F with 59.2 inches of snow a year, so heating gets most of the attention. Summers still reach an average July high of 83.9°F, and anyone with a second floor that holds heat feels it. Whatever we put in has to handle both.

Questions about Stable Air heating and cooling in Saratoga County

Before you let someone into your basement or attic you want to know who's coming. These are the questions people ask about us, the Round Lake shop and how a job with us goes. We answer from what customers wrote and what we know for sure.

Does the person who gives the estimate do the work in Saratoga County?
Yes, we come out, look at the system and go over the options and prices with you, and the same person comes back to do the work. Charlene Shahin noticed the difference when her 1950 furnace was replaced: “Other companies I contacted sent a person to do the estimate but not the work!” If you have a question a year later, you're calling a company that has already been inside your house.
Where is our shop in Saratoga County?
The shop is a storefront at 30 Wood Rd Unit 5 & 7, Round Lake, NY 12151, and Round Lake is a village in the Town of Malta in Saratoga County. From there we work in 14 communities across Saratoga, Albany and Schenectady counties, with a lot of jobs right now in Clifton Park, Mechanicville and Latham. The full list is on our HVAC service areas page.
Will you tell me if a repair isn't worth the money in Saratoga County?
We will, and we'll show you why: Mary Lynne Hamilton called about a central air system that had quit and wrote that she got “a clear answer as to why our unit wasn’t working (turns out 2 parts of the unit were broken),” plus why fixing it didn't make sense and what the replacement options were. It goes the other way too. Jordan Gerber, who has used us for his furnace and central AC for years, wrote that if a system can be fixed, it gets fixed.
Do you work on older houses in Saratoga County?
Yes, and a lot of our jobs are in them: customers have had us replace a 1950 furnace with custom-made vent work, pull an oil furnace out of a 200-year-old farmhouse and put in a whole home heat pump, and custom fabricate ductwork so a heat pump system could tie into existing ducts across multiple zones. Older homes rarely have anything standard in them. Plan on us measuring and looking around before we quote.
